Today I walked amongst the wood,
That has always stood for me to witness,
Unchanged so far as I can detect.
The limits of my inspection,
being what they simply are.
I can’t recall my thoughts or actions,
or the sights and sounds and smells and textures,
the distractions,
they were all harmonious.
I was no intruder to the ancient order,
The holes around were full of mammals,
who knew my history,
And hid.
In rememberance of others,
who had fought for their respect,
And for me,
It was only ghosts I had to fear.
That has always stood for me to witness,
Unchanged so far as I can detect.
The limits of my inspection,
being what they simply are.
I can’t recall my thoughts or actions,
or the sights and sounds and smells and textures,
the distractions,
they were all harmonious.
I was no intruder to the ancient order,
The holes around were full of mammals,
who knew my history,
And hid.
In rememberance of others,
who had fought for their respect,
And for me,
It was only ghosts I had to fear.
